HMA Techniplan designs and supplies a range of Hi-Rail kits for light vehicles for uses as general fitter gang trucks, track inspection Hi-Rail vehicles and weed and vegetation control Hi-Rail vehicles. Base vehicles include Landcruisers, Iveco and Fuso trucks.

The Hi-Rail vehicles are fitted with tray bodies and tool boxes and are supplied complete with an electrical and hydraulic control system for hi-rail and accessories deployment.

HMA Techniplan also designs and certifies any modifications to the base vehicle for fitment of the Hi-Rail including chassis modifications and reinforcing, suspension modifications and relocations, rear tyre/rim modification for friction drive on the head of the rail and relocation of batteries, fuel tank and exhaust system.

HMA Techniplan Hi-Rail systems are designs specifically to suit the client preference of truck manufacturer and model. Hi-rails can be fitted at the front of the truck or behind the front truck axle for compliance to ADR requirements for crashworthiness and ABS braking operation.

Optional attachments include pedestrian collision covers, vehicle cranes, weed spraying and vegetation control equipment and track measuring equipment.

Hi-Rail kits are also available for a range of industrial equipment including excavators.

The 7T GVM Hi-Rail vehicle has demonstrated its agility as a small vehicle for easy track access as well as providing a very usable payload for the numerous range of tasks required for rail maintenance and construction.

This unit is fitted with the Hi-Rail fitted behind the vehicle front axle with many benefits including a reduced loading on the front road-going axle compared to other Hi-Rail equipment overhung at the front and through the coil spring suspension with hydraulic dampers, making for superior ride comfort.
